About a month and half ago I stumbled upon lulu.com, a self-publishing service that offers on-demand personalized photo book (and other types of books) publishing and some potential e-Commerce extensions to sell your publications online. And all this at a very reasonable price since you can order 1 or 500 copies of your publication, starting at $25 for my full bleed hard cover 8.5″ x 11″ 20-page photo book. For those who don’t know Joe McNally, he’s one of the top photographers of the last couple decades, and he recently published this highly anticipated book titled “The Moment it Clicks”. Each page you turn in this book gives you 3 amazing things: 1. A truly awesome picture, 2. The story behind the shot, 3. How he executed the shot technically speaking. So for photographers this book is packed with beautiful and powerful imagery, stories, and “how-to” tips that I can almost guarantee will enhance your photo skills.

In my opinion his versatility is the key to his creativity and his nuggets of advice illustrated through anecdotes are great complements to the technical how-to’s. I highly recommend this book, not just for photographers but also for those who just want to enjoy the shots and stories.
